Our THOUGHTS create our FEELINGS.
Think about it...
Feelings are not just some magical thing that "happens" to us.
Our feelings are a direct result of the thoughts that exist in our head.
If you want to change how you feel, you have to become aware of the thought in your head. This, in essence, is what "mindfulness" is about. The practice of becoming aware of our thoughts.
Once you identify the thought that is creating the feeling, you can begin the work of identifying the feeling you WANT to feel, and creating the thought that will facilitate that feeling.
If you could make someone feel a certain way, then you would have to control their thoughts.
But you are not a Jedi, and you do not control anyone's thoughts.
And no one controls your thoughts.
You are only responsible for your own feelings, and you are NEVER responsible for another person's feelings.
